Security control

To ensure your personal safety onboard the aircraft you will be required to undergo the pre-flight security inspection conducted by Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk airport Aviation Security Service. Baggage and hand luggage screening as well as physical inspection are carried out after check-in. Passengers checking in for international flights are screened and inspected after passing customs and immigration control.

Please kindly note, that there are special conditions of pre-screening of passengers who have implanted devices for stimulating cardiac function. This category of passengers is the subject of manual(contact) method of examination and(or) personal(individual) examination without the use of technical and special equipment. In order to comply with the established rules of examination and your personal safety, we kindly ask you to inform the Aviation Security Service staff about the presence of such restrictions when checking the travel documents or while preparing for the examination with the use of technical equipment.

Security inspection is implemented for all domestic and international flights performed by aircraft belonging to aviation entities, airlines and other operators regardless of ownership and identity. Passenger of charter flights are subject to inspection on the same standard terms.

At the airport security point each passenger will be required to produce a valid ticket, boarding pass and one of the identification documents listed below:

  • Valid Russian Federation national passport;
  • The Russian Federation International Passport, or Diplomatic Passport, or Service Passport;
  • Valid national passport (for foreign nationals);
  • Russian residence permit (for stateless persons);
  • Valid birth certificate (for Russian citizens under 14 y.o);
  •  Valid Seaman's Passport or Seaman's Book for travelling on duty.
  • Valid Temporary Identification Card of The Russian Federation National.
  • Permit to Return to the country of citizenship.
  • Valid Russian Military Officer's ID or Warrant Officer's ID or a CIS military officer's ID, except Georgia.
  • Valid Russian Military Card ("Voenniy Bilet") with records of service (for conscripts and contract military staff).
  • Travel Document (for stateless persons or refugees);
  • The United Nations Laissez-Passer issued for official travel purposes.
  • Identification Card of the Member of the State Duma or the Member of the Council of Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation (for domestic flights only).
  • The Warrant of Discharge issued to convicts upon release.
  • Certificate issued to convicts who were granted a long or short-term leave from custody.

On August 27, 2007 new restrictions on liquids permitted for carrying in hand luggage were introduced in Russia.

Liquids allowed in hand luggage:

  • Water and other drinks, soups, syrups, jam, honey.
  • Lotions, creams and oils.
  • Perfume, eau de cologne and eau de toilette
  • Sprays
  • Gels, including hair and shower gels.
  • Pressurized containers including shaving foams and other foams and deodorants.
  • Pastes, including toothpastes
  • Liquid and solid mixtures
  • Mascara
  • Any other solutions and items of similar consistency.

All liquids mentioned below should:

  • be in a packing unit of MAXIMUM of 100 ML. Liquids in containers with the volume of more than 100 ml are prohibited for transportation even if such container is partially filled.
  • be placed in a transparent plastic lockable container (parcel) of 18х20 cm, total volume of liquids in such container (by volume of packing units) must be not more than 1 litre.

Each passenger may have only one such plastic parcel in a carry-on baggage.

Baby milk, liquid baby food, medicines and dietary products are still allowed in hand luggage. The airport security staff may ask you to produce the evidence of that you will need those items during your flight (health certificate or a prescription).

All the above mentioned liquids packed in accordance with the new regulations, as well as any baby or dietary food and medicines, must be presented for examination in the security area separately from other of hand luggage.

All other liquids permitted for air transportation but not complying with the above regulations must be packed into the hand luggage in advance and checked in.

Please make sure your luggage is ready for pre-flight security inspection.

 
  • Place all carried liquids in a plastic bag with a volume of no greater than 100 ml.
  • Remove your overclothes, headgear, belts and footwear and place them into the plastic crates provided.To ensure hygiene, you are advised to use disposable shoe covers.
  • The following items must be either packed into your hand luggage or placed into the plastic crates provided: mobile phones, handheld computers, cigarette lighters, cigarettes, coins, keys and other metal objects. Place your hand luggage horizontally on the scanner belt. To avoid any damage to your property, never place your hand luggage on the edge of the belt loader as it can jerk in the reverse direction at turn-on.

Note: Be prepared to be asked to open your hand bag for inspection. Therefore, we strongly urge you not to wrap your hand luggage in packaging film. All prohibited or dangerous items and substances found in your hand luggage during security control will be either allowed to be packed into your check-in baggage, or handed to accompanying and not travelling person.

Any passenger who owns or legally possesses and carries a firearm must deliver the firearm into the custody of the airline for the duration of the flight. The firearm will be returned to the passenger upon arrival at the airport of destination.

The acceptance of firearms for temporary custody during a flight is documented in the report. The arms will be returned to the passenger upon producing the report to a security representative of the airport of destination.

As a rule, any passenger's hand luggage and baggage shall undergo a security inspection in the presence of the owner. However, if there is a good reason to suspect that baggage contains prohibited items or substances, the security inspection may be carried out in the absence of the owner.

Transportation of baggage and hand luggage of passengers who failed to board is prohibited.

Any passenger who refuses to undergo security checks may be denied boarding and the airline may avoid the contract of carriage.

Any blasting powders, in any package or any quantity.
Live cartridges, including small-calibre ones.
Gas weapon cartridges.
Caps or pistons for hunting.
Pyrotechnical equipment: signal pistols and flares, signal rockets, blasting cartridges, smoke pots, shot-firer matches, Bengal matches, detonating cartridges.
Trotyl (TNT), dynamite, tolite, ammonal or other explosives.
Detonating or blasting caps, squibs, detonating or igniting fuses.

COMPRESSED OR CONDENSED GASES

Domestic use gases (butane-propane) or other gases. Gas cylinders containing nerve or tear gas.

FLAMMABLE LIQUIDS

Acetone, petrol, samples of inflammable petrochemical products, methanol, methyl acetate, carbon bisulphide, ethers, and ethylcellulose.

 

SOLID FLAMMABLE SUBSTANCES

Self-igniting substances;
Substances emitting flammable gases in contact with water.
Potassium, sodium, metal calcium and its compositions, phosphorous calcium etc.
White, yellow or red phosphorus and other solid flammable substances.

 

OXIDANTS AND ORGANIC PEROXIDES

Colloid nitrocellulose in granules or flakes, dry or moist, containing less than 25% of water or another solvent.
Colloid moist nitrocellulose in pieces, containing less than 25% of alcohol.
Dry or moist nitrocellulose, containing less than 30% of dissolvent or 20% of water etc.

CAUSTIC AND CORROSIVE SUBSTANCES

Strong inorganic acids: hydrochloric acid, nitric acid and others.
Fluorohydrogen acid and other strong acids and corrosive substances.

POISONOUS AND TOXIC SUBSTANCES AS WELL AS RADIOACTIVE SUBSTANCES

Any poisonous and toxic substances, solid or liquid, in any package; brucine, nicotine, strychnine, tetrahydrofurfuryl alcohol, antifreeze, brake fluid, ethylene glycol, mercury, all cyanides and cyanide derivatives, cyclone, black cyanide, arsenous anhydride etc.

ARMS

Guns, revolvers, rifles, carbines and other firearms; gas and Pneumatic air guns, electric shock devices, dirks, stilettos, bayonet knives, except in cases envisaged by the Russian Federation legislation and in accordance with approved procedures and practices.

different kinds of paddles;
close fight means, for example: knuckle-dusters, bludgeons, heavy bludgeons, chains, nun chucks, etc.;

Explosives and flammable substances

Any explosive or potentially explosive substances which pose a threat to the health of passengers and crew and to safety/integrity of a plane or property, including:
aerosol paint;
spirits containing more than 70% of alcohol;
ammunition;
primer detonators;
detonators and fuses;
explosive agents and explosive devices;
fireworks, signal rockets and other pyrotechnic devices (including crackers and toy guns);
flammable liquid fuel, for example: petroleum/gasoline, diesel fuel, lighter-refueling liquids, alcohol, ethanol;
grenades of all types;
gas and gas containers, such as butane, propane, acetylene, oxygen - in large amounts;
mines and other explosive devices for military purposes;
insecure matches (strike-anywhere matches, etc.);
replicas or imitation of explosive materials and devices ;
smoke bombs or bullets;
turpentine and paint thinners;

Chemical ans Toxic Substances

Any chemical or toxic substances that may pose a threat to health of passengers and crew and to safety/integrity of a plane or property, including:
acids and alkalis, such as leaking batteries;
corrosive or bleaching agents, such as mercury, chlorine;
aerosols knocking out of action or incapacitating, such as pepper gas, tear gas;
infectious or biologically hazardous materials, for example: infected blood, bacteria and viruses;
materials capable of spontaneous ignition and self-ignition;
poisons;
radioactive materials, such as isotopes to be used for medical and commercial purposes;
fire extinguishers.
